Margo Brookfield, Gap Year Radio host

Meet Margo. Margo is the Gap Programs Coordinator (and former Gap Instructor) for ARCC Gap, an experiential semester program abroad for high school graduates. She is incredibly passionate about experiential learning and all there is to be gained with a gap year experience.

Margo’s basecamp is in Bend, Oregon and she enjoys going for hikes along the many trails of Central Oregon and skiing the slopes of Mt Bachelor through the winter time. Other passions include reading, cycling, cooking (or trying new interesting foods), photography, learning languages, and planning her next adventure!

Margo’s favorite travel destinations include Guatemala, Thailand, Uganda and South Africa.

Meet Julia. Julia is a professional gap year coach and founder of EnRoute Consulting. She creates custom travel itineraries for students taking a gap year (I know…it’s a cool job).

She lives in Stowe, Vermont where she spends her free time mountain biking, snowboarding, practicing archery and trying new outdoor pursuits. Julia has two small daughters who love to drink mango smoothies and pretend they are going to the moon on a rocketship. Her husband Tom is a wildlife biologist who has literally wrestled eagles, tranquilized bears and who frequently helps turtles cross the road.

Julia’s favorite travel destinations are Luang Prabang Laos, Sikkim, India and Oaxaca, Mexico. Her bucket list destination is Bhutan.

In 2019 Gap Year Radio won an award from the Gap Year Association for innovation in the gap year industry!
